Hybrid TTM to treat all parasites!

That all makes sense and is about what I expected. I thought that as far as Ich (only) goes, the 72 hour transfer would most likely eliminate transmission from one fish to another. But as you noted, no guarantee and would be risky. Thank you, --Kyle

Hybrid TTM to treat all parasites!

Hey @Humblefish, I have some questions for you about TTM/Hybrid TTM - and how Ich works in these scenarios: 1. Let's say I've done two transfers with a couple of fish in the TTM tank. And then I add a third fish. Could the two fish be done after the regular 4th transfer - or would I need to...

Hybrid TTM to treat all parasites!

Wow, you're doing about the same as me. A 10g and 5g TTM at the same time, each with 2-3 fish (although you might be overdoing it with five in a single tank IMO). I had some of the same ammonia concerns when I did this. Anyway, I wanted to chime in with an issue that I had that could be what...

    Hydrogen Peroxide

Hey @Humblefish, I have an update. For two days the wrasse was mostly lying on its side and I figured it was about to die. The past two days it has actually been swimming around quite a bit (although it's swimming upright). Unfortunately, it hasn't eaten that I've seen during the past 4 days...

    Hydrogen Peroxide

Ohhh right, I knew that. For some reason I was thinking PraziPro was the same as MetroPlex, but it's the same as the *other* ingredient in General Cure (Praziquantel). I added MetroPlex and KanaPlex to the quarantine tank - and also to the tank with the Exquisite Wrasse by itself. And...

    Hydrogen Peroxide

Okay, will the KanaPlex hurt the biological filtration in the QT (sponge filters with air pumps)? Also, I have PraziPro - should I do that instead of MetroPlex? Although aren't both of them dangerous to use with the Melanurus wrasse in there? Oh, the KanaPlex expired in 2013... I imagine it...

    Hydrogen Peroxide

So should I feed it KanaPlex + MetroPlex then? Although it isn't eating right now... :-( Thanks, --Kyle

    Hydrogen Peroxide

I do (although the Kanaplex is expired). I have been feeding food with General Cure most of the time in TTM though, so he's already at least had MetroPlex. Remember the original pics though - do they look like Brook? Thanks, --Kyle

    Hydrogen Peroxide

I kind of thought so too, but the spot on his lip seemed to be protruding. At any rate, today he looks way worse. I'm afraid he's on his way out? Breathing heavy and looks like his scales are peeling back. :-( I'm pretty sure there's been 0 aggression in this tank, so I don't think the other...

    Hydrogen Peroxide

I did in my previous post above. For some reason it takes a long time for them to load on the forum? Anyway, I see two odd spots/marks on the top of its face and lip, but that's all. --Kyle

    Hydrogen Peroxide

Considering I just finished a full TTM (with H202 baths even), how could I still have an issue with Ich though? I did every transfer just before 72 hours. :-( Ugh, this is so frustrating. I'll have to look into chloroquine phosphate - don't have any of that and I don't love the idea of doing...

    Hydrogen Peroxide

Okay, thanks. You don't think it's much to worry about if I put them together? Also, I didn't see any flukes after doing the freshwater dip (that I could tell). Hours later and the wrasse is still breathing really heavy. Thanks, --Kyle

    Hydrogen Peroxide

Update: The fish has a spot on the top of its head and on its mouth. And the past 3 days it's been swimming less, breathing heavier, and hasn't eaten either. It was eating fine before the last transfer (and H2O2 dip). I'm about to do a FW dip and see if I can see flukes drop off. Should I FW dip...

    Hydrogen Peroxide

Okay, thanks. I just did the 2nd H2O2 bath before my last transfer. I'd prefer not to stress them with another one. Although they don't seem to be terribly bothered by the bath, they're very stressed out by the transfer (but maybe that was because of the high ammonia and/or pH difference in the...

    Hydrogen Peroxide

It was high on the middle of the fish's back. I haven't seen anything on the fins, so I don't really think it's lympho. The spot looked like a single one of the spots from the other pictures. Thanks, --Kyle
