I have a google doc with all the livestock I’m planning on, I’ll share it here. Going to continue adding to it. Will track the equipment on that too. Basically keep a summary of what was planned and what happened.

Man alive you are going to feed frozen foods to FW fish! I would have never even thought o that as that seems so far off from all the FW guys I know! You will have about 1000000000 babies in the tank! Excited to see this thing in action!

I’ve learned A LOT about freshwater since I decided I’m going to dive into this build. Such as making a cerges reactor for 100% co2 dissolve. And feeding some fish green beans, strawberries, squash, etc haha

Green beans (and some other fresh fruits/veggies) are great food for some fish, but they're extremely messy and quickly gum up canisters if you let them.

No canister filters over here! It will be a sump with some thicc boy sponges as the filtration media.

I’m getting ready to break down my 150 and converting it to freshwater, I was thinking about African cichlids but the aquascapes don’t do much for me. I’ve always admired planted tanks and am leaning that way. I’m not totally abandoning reefing and am setting up a 25 gallon nano to scratch that itch.

That will make a very amazing planted community tank. I’m also quite bored by Chichlid tanks.

I am fighting stringy hair algae in the FW tank... Algae is annoying in all parts of aquarium keeping

Your tank is like 20gals right? Your livebearers are good algae eaters. Flagfish and Siamese algae eaters are best. I peroxide dip plants with algae and manually remove as much as I can. That or cut off sections with it

Ive done a very light bleach dip with plants as well. @Vincelovesfish do you have any insight to keep duckweed out of the tank?

Rinse plants out and scoop it out when you see it lol. Mollies and flagfish and pretty good for eating duckweed.
