Yeah I’ll make it test every 2 hrs and do something similar. I still haven’t upgraded to the p4 so I can’t program that yet.

Alk has been variable recently, I think it’s a combination of starting aminos and keeping my windows open for higher pH. I’ve been seeing pH up to 8.55

That ok, if you cannot control it then when you program the doser program it bit lower thsn the projected value.
If you are working from home u should not worry cause u can correct quick.
If u are not wfh, do the switch Friday night and observe Saturday and Sunday.
It should not be a big deal..

This red goni I’ve had since my 2nd tank has started hosting my clowns. It is so cool to watch them get covered with the polyps as the flow sends them back and forth. In the first tank I had this goni in its extension was about 2x so I am hoping I can get that back so they clowns have more room.

I’m becoming a fan of encrusting growth while watching this bright edge ooz over the rock, I’m sure I won’t like it as much when it starts encroaching the other acros on this rock.

This is one of the new frags i made and moved to the frag tank. This thing is beast with encrusting and taking up real-estate

It will look like a forest with dense trees. Encrusting the tile with finger looking structures(like trees) very close to each other

I put my phone in the tank to take pictures and it worked pretty well! It didn’t do any favors to my framing ability, but it was nice to have the freedom of not being perpendicular to the acrylic. I had to use the down volume button to take the pictures since the touch doesn’t work in water.

I probably could have gone a bit bluer, this was CW and WW from the radion and the royal blue from the led bars

I don’t have a great reason. But it was time to get more so I looked at the options. I’m using ATI nutrients and liked the calculator it has for calculating an increasing dose so I have their 2 part a shot. It was a fairly easy transition and their calculator did help get a good starting point for dosage so I didn’t have a big dip when switching.

I’m new to the hobby and I think I just like trying the different options, even if only for a little while. So far I’ve done all for reef, kalk, b-ionic, and now the ATI 2 part. I do want to stay with the Ati one for a bit just to stay stable. The first batch will last me awhile since my tank is small and doesn’t have too big of a demand

I hear you. I have been using Bionic for 3+ years now, and coupled with water changes have had great results. Nothing wrong with checking out other grass and seeing if it's greener, I was just curious.

I have had some issues with my current tank. It is very shallow and long and it made flow difficult, especially with my goal of keeping acros. Even with my neros as low as they can be I get splashing out of my tank and really widespread salt spray, and it just isn’t acceptable for a tank in my living room. I was holding off and hoping my lid would help with that, but when it came and I discovered the tank was bowing out, it was the final straw.

I love the shape of my current tank, but it would be better suited for a low flow zoa and softie tank. My plan is to empty it and then lower the weir to have a lower water height and hopefully reduce the bowing?

@cromag27 or others with acrylic experience: is my assumption correct, if I run the tank with less water and a lower water level should it not bow out as much?

Anyways, to solve the problems I’m having with the current tank I am going back to glass with this Nuvo 30L. Should be an interesting tank to scape with a 36x10x14 display area, but I’m looking forward to the depth and am really happy with the new placement in my living room.

Shame about the bowing though mate, it would be a cool idea to do a shallower tank with lower flow and lots of fun things!

first of all, that's not one of my lids. lol,

running less water would create less of a bow, however.....

even running a lower water level will not decrease how much water the acrylic has absorbed, which is the main issue on your tank.

I appreciate the advice. Once I’m more setup with the new tank I think I want to try one of your caskets, get some good bio media in the back chambers.
