Careful with Fluconazole with SPS

Most SPS got their color back after treating my tank with Fluconazole 8 weeks ago, but a few are still coloring up slowly. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pics during the worst of it. At that point I thought I was going to lose all my SPS. PC Rainbow still looks pretty bad and still have a long way to recover. WD went from transparent brown to green and now slight hint of yellow. Fruity Pebbles was transparent green and now yellow with hint of red. Bryopsis are completely gone but now I see bubble algae everywhere!

how much did you dose? i've done it a bunch of times and have never really noticed much difference

it does stress things a bit i think, as last time i dosed it i fragged some stuff not too long after and i lost a couple oregon tort frags to rtn. so i definitely wouldn't frag stuff after dosing it, but i've never had color loss or anything of that sort

I did a 4x dose and only issue with acros was minimal growth and all the growth was "lumpy." It was really weird. Also, at that dose, bubble alage only somewhat died back, but afterward came back with a vengeance due to no competition for nutrients

I dosed 2000mg rated for 200gal into my 170gal system.

Interesting, did you do reef flux or the other one?

I just hit my tank with it a couple weeks ago and there’s still a bit of turf algae lingering so I’m pondering another round after a water change

Bubble algae? Get yoself a friggin foxface
Look at algaefix maybe. Tons of posts on reef central claiming is worked very well and didn't bother sps. A big bonus for me is that it degrades rapidly. Fluconazole IME doesn't just "go away" with carbon and skimmer. It lingers a long time. Alagaefix apparently degrades in 24-48hrs. It doesn't actually 100% eradicate alage though and if the tabk issues aren't corrected, it'll jist come back if you stop the maintenance doses.
