Hello Everyone,

Back in the game with something my wife has been requesting for years. Seahorses! I figured what the hey let me look at 5g tanks. Lo and behold I found this cool little 5g tank for just $65!

Losing money not buying it right? I also have a little $7 80 GPH pump coming, that you can turn down if needed.

Going to use a 30w nicrew LED to light er up, and a 25W heater to make sure it doesn't get too cold. The basement is chilly! I'm going to get the critters from www.seahorsesavy.com, finding them is what really made the decision for me. I remember seahorse savy (the user) from wayback in the day. Glad to see she has expanded greatly. Going to be a soft coral and gorg tank, with maybe some acans.

Will update again when I actually receive the tank. Plan is to get the tank firmly established before I add the lil horses.

Hello everyone, the tank is in! I got a single white shrimp from the deli today (shell and all) to cycle this bad boy. Going to build a simple stand then get it going.

ill get a pic of the tank but i need input, the manufacturer adds in a back panel for filtration. However im thinking of just doing a corner filtration compartment. But perhaps the whole back wall is better as it would allow for more sponges 🧽.

Well...you're gonna be keeping dwarf seahorses. So how are you going to account for their extreme need for BBS in the filtration? Is the filtration just going to suck them out? Are you going to make it so that bbs can just flow through the filtration?

From talks with another user here who name escapes me, but the need of bbs is not as often as that person initially thought, after they go the horses.

BUT, i think have minimal media is probably the play, and let the rock and sand and weekly water change provide the filtration.

i think having a piece across the entire back wall is the move so i can hide the heater back there.

Also going to have a crew of nassasrius snails to much leftover bbs. I imagine they will flourish in such a tank.
