You probably remember Little Pizzoli's on N Trenton. The "Gangsta Baked Zitti" was one of my fav Italian dishes ANYWHERE. I've also heard that Brister's BBQ (formerly Dowling's) is not as good since it moved. I hope they didn't mess up "The Scatterload".When we lived there, I was amazed by the friendliness of the folks there. Everyone is just so nice and welcoming. While I don't need a big city life, I have to admit the small-ness of Ruston would get to me sometimes, and I would venture to the metropolis of Shreveport for some shopping. I'm not a big shopper as far as ladies go, but I DO like to have some options. I still miss our friends very much, and went back in October for a get together. I know you'll enjoy your time there! Oh, yeah, though, living with in laws for that long is a challenge, even when everyone gets along!!
I may need to get a list of recommended restaurants from you when we move to Ruston.Uh oh, Bobby! I hate to break it to you, but Little Pizzoli's is closed. Our favorite local Italian was at Roma's downtown; always freshly made sauces and bread. True confession: we were not fans of Brister's, nor any of the local BBQ joints. We're kind of BBQ snobs after living in TX. The best smoked meat, in my opinion, was done by our friend in town, who has a bit of a small catering business. The man can SMOKE SOME REALLY FINE brisket and ribs, and does some mean sides to boot. He cooked for all of our small group gatherings for church...except when we had our annual crawfish boil, that is! So good folks would get family dinners done by Scott. Mmmm...
Found you. What was the rope for??I'm in one of those pictures....hint: I'm not one of the attractive females
I like the Popeye's in Houma better than the ones around here. But really the place I like to eat when I do head that way (or back) is Spar's in Des Allemands.
