Inverts are quickly becoming one of my favorite things about owning an aquarium and I love adding new inverts to the mix. What are your favorite crab for a reef tank? I'm ready to add some more unique ones :)

I've been trying to upload a video of this, but it keeps failing so I've settled for a screen shot of my current favorite crab. His name is Casper and he's a porcelain crab. I just think he's the coolest.

No favorite but I usually keep at least one emerald crab along with a few scarlet and micro hermits (from ipsf). A few red mitrax came in on some KP rock so they are also in there. Oh, and I have a breeding pair of unknown gorilla crabs in my overflow box :) They also came in on the KP rock so I tossed them in there. They seem to like it a lot - go figure.

I would like a Gaudy Clown Crab but not able to find one. Says they eat palythoa so worth a try although biological control is hit or miss, right? So I'd try it also because I think they are different.

For a reef tank? My vote is none. For a junk drawer type tank, one of those big strawberry hermit crabs, or maybe an arrow crab are fun to watch.
What about a junk drawer reef tank? Lol. I'm kidding. I do appreciate your candor.

I'd love a guady clown crab too. I don't have any palys though so I'm worried it'll either eat my zoas or starve.

Same exact species - just looks different depending upon region collected.

Does yours have a host anemone? I've always wondered how much a a Porcelain Crab needed one for protection.
Gotcha. I've actually read that too. I don't have any yet, but I do plan on it once I figure some things out with my parameters first.

Mine sits right in the middle of a cluster of rock flowers.
