Okay, Update on this bad boy since I just got back and we have now let this thing run with fish in the tank for 9 days I believe. I have been out of town for the last 6 days so we have been relying on part-time help to feed all the tanks. This tank, for being brand new and not cycled before the fish went in outside bacteria dosing that went in for the first 7 days and the shrimp so it has gone extremely well in that respect. I haven't lost a single fish, but I have noticed a few shrimp missing,
I AM LOOKING AT YOU FEMALE KILLIFISH! Man alive I caught her with an adult shrimp 2/3 the size of her that she had tried to eat. Of course, she couldn't but it was so far down in her belly that she barely got it back out after a big struggle. never seen such a glutinous fish outside of northern Pikes here in MN. We will find them floating in the lake with another fish jammed in their throats.
Anyways... I am starting to grow some long stingy green hair algae so I reduced the amount of white light in the tank. Thinking about this,
@Jposch I need my PAR meter back please as I need to test where we are in this tank. I think I am much too bright but better now. Already noticed the green Hair Algue starting to thin and it's only been a day or two. I went in and cleaned out a few strands as well and "Combed" the plants to get as much as I could get out. The shrimps look to be working on it as well.
So What fish do I need to stick to my super macro fish size but will start helping/being a clean-up crew? I don't have any snails or anything like that in there... Just the 6-ish Cherry Shrimps.
