@Flippers4pups what's the blades that currently come with the tunze made out of?

I was under the impression 316ss does extremely well in Salt water?
Whatever the tunze uses shows almost no discoloration for me. I usually leave the scraper in the tank. Bad habit, I know. Lol

Test with a magnet - stainless - no attraction - some type of steel - smack like in a Christmas movie:)

Sincerely Lasse
I've been saying this forever... those "stainless steel" fragging tools are ferrous enough to attract magnets. Hence they rust. I asked the question to a titan of this industry, why no one makes 316ss fragging tools, and the answer was asinine. "Cost"... bull 💩, when people pay 5x for captive bred fish, $1k for a single light, and thousands to attach a controller to their tank, what makes you think we're going to balk at rust proof tools?

I agree. Like tunze vs. Jebao. Eventually, I'm tired of the BS problems and replacing equipment, and am ready for that "lifetime" equipment.
I'd like some real 316ss bone cutters that are sharp, scissors that are sharp, and maybe other things. Otherwise, dollar store for tools that rust and need to be replaced often. The bone cutters I got from farm supply store are ok. But a bit dull, and they get rust in the joint. Not a fan of oiling tools that are used for the tank. Even if silicone based or food grade lubricants.

I have test with Tunzes "stainless" a year ago - I know the answer:) Maybe its an import from Christmas Island?:)

But I use it anyway - its one of the best scraper I have tested - however it goes up after each use

@Jposch I do the same. I think most people do.

@saf1 does the instructions have a warning on leaving it in the water?

I didn't catch it to be honest. It does say that the hobbyist can leave it in the aquarium without issue. I have done this with the metal blades and haven't noticed anything to be fair. However I started to keep it out after use as I get small crustations or something growing on the base. Also my strombus snails use them for eggs :(

Doc:
The TUNZE® Care Magnet can remain in the aquarium in the long run without disrupting the overall scenery. All materials that come into contact with the environment are resistant to corrosion and hydrolysis
