Well this would explain a pH drop. I installed a CO2 monitor and tested. Normal levels around 400. Once I turn on hot water and the heater kicks on then CO2 causes the meter to go into Overload. The exhaust fan is pulling fresh air from the exhaust pipe and bringing CO2 into the garage. Once I turn the exhaust fan off then the CO2 drops back down to normal levels. I will keep the fan off for now and see what happens to the pH for the next week.

Cool to see the pH drop like this on the Apex and be able to correct the issue.

Holy CRAP!!!!

That is the reason I like on my Tankless that it doesn't use any inside air. It pulls air from outside and exhausts outside. My furnace is the same way, but then again it's not in my garage, it's in my basement.

Also scary because of your hot water heater malfunctions it could pull carbon monoxide back into the garage, which as you know is a big problem.

Glad you figured it out.

That is my thought exactly. I will not run the exhaust fan anymore unless I can find a fix for this.

Anyone have any good links to videos, pictures, threads, etc for large canopy builds? The canopy has been the one thing that I am not confident with right now as I don't have a complete plan on what I want to do.

I am tossing around the idea of using aluminum and skinning it, keeping the top open for heat, etc. Just looking for ideas.

This one is pretty wild, it uses the motor from a standing desk to raise up. I think he has another video about the doors he puts on which were also motorized.

On the less complicated side of things: On a previous tank I used aluminum extrusion to build a frame for a radion and led bars then covered it with some 6” baseboard trim I painted white. The free hanging looked really nice but if I did it again I would have extended the trim closer to the wall to help hide the power cables more.

Recently saw someone's thread on the other site where they used a garage bicycle lift. If I find it again I'll tag you into the thread there.

You may already know this so if so please ignore. If not though you can do a rough sketch and explanation and send it in to 80/20 and they will send you a cad diagram and parts if you go that route. Also if you use wood yet want hanging solutions they do that as well.
