Lil fellow looks great!
These guys are funny, some are recluse and others want to be in your face anytime your near the tank. As for them eating you just want to ensure the type of pods they like are dominate in your tank. Typically tisbe or apocyclops are best suited but again, it depends on the fish. You will know your pod population is good when you take a break for a day or two from cleaning your glass and you see them all over the glass.I am obsessed with making sure this mandarin is eating enough food. The little darling doesn't come out that often to see with any certainty if she is getting enough. I "should" have plenty of pods and have even seeded some more including dosing phyto to try and keep the population going. I feed heavily twice a day with a mixture of frozen baby brine/rods food/reef masstick powder/nano pellets. Once I dump the food and turn off all pumps she comes out and seems to be eating. Just can't tell if she's keeping on weight...
Here are some really crappy pics and sorry for the multiple. Trying to get different views
Well it was pecking right below the area, but I haven't caught it in the act. I knew going in it might not be reef safe, so it is what it is...Have you seen any such behavior from the filefish?
