My Book is back for sale

I just called my book publisher (KDP from Amazon) because I couldn't figure out the royalties for the book so I can donate it to the MS Society. Their website is confusing.
I didn't know that they pay you 3 months after the books sell which is no problem I will put out the money myself as I want to give it to them this year.

(I think I only get about 7 bucks for each book, the rest goes to the publisher for printing, parties, and those show girls in Las Vegas who carry around the books to give away with drinks)

I am donating 100% of the profits and I will kick in another 75 or so % on top of that so I don't look to cheap. I also want them to find a cure for the thing.

We are not talking millions here, maybe $500.00.
I am waiting for the MS Society to call me back with the address to bring the check.

Thanks again and Merry Christmas.

My copperband hasn't eaten on over a week but still looks perfect and hunts food all day even though she can't figure out how to bite it. Healthy fish can go for weeks or even months without eating. Copperbands can't go that long because they are not a really fat, lethargic fish.

Soon she will slow down and lose the sheen on her scales, her eyes will dull and she will become disoriented.

I would like to buy another small one, maybe with a similar size long nosed butterfly but my copperband doesn't play well with other butterflies so I will have to wait until she dies.

She is a large, striking fish and I will miss her but I think she lived a full life. I won't necropsy her because without a CAT-fish scan, I an quite sure I won't find anything wrong with her and it is very hard to study the brain on such a fish. I doubt I would be able to pick out a brain tumor or Parkensons either.

Whats a feeding grid?

Remember the fish can eat, just doesn't know where her mouth is. I think her vision focuses about 1/4" off to the side and she is frustrated. She needs prism glasses but I wouldn't know how to clean the diatoms off of them every day.

A piece of clam or worm can be on the gravel just sitting there and she tries, but can't get it.

Whats a feeding grid?
Something like this: https://www.marinedepot.com/ocean-nutrition-feeding-frenzy-grid-feeder-clip

Or this: https://www.amazon.com/Ocean-Nutrition-Salt-Creek-AON25105/dp/B00BUFU53Q/

Basically, you stick it on the glass and put food inside the grid. You can put a cube of frozen or even a clam inside, and the food will remain stationary. CBBs seem to like it because it imitates crevices/holes they pick food out of in the wild. Even if she misses at first, she can keep picking until she finds the hole with the food.

I have tons of these, so just PM me your mailing address and I'll send one out in the morning. I believe @DexterB uses a nicer feeding pouch for her tank, but I can't seem to find a link for that.

P.S. The grid is black (not white), so your CBB shouldn't be afraid of it.:D

OK, I have seen those. Thanks, it is a good idea but I can build that in 3 minutes. That will not solve his problem. Now he goes after food but doesn't even try to bite it any more, he gave up.

I think she is just old and a little senile, maybe has a little PTSD or even OCD.

Hi Paul,
Here is the link below...
To build one you just need it open at top & sealed at bottom & sealed on each side. It keeps clam or other meaty foods in place thar way.

I push the meat of clam out a little from mesh do it sticks out. I think you should give it a chance - it won't hurt to try it. All my fish love to graze on it.

I bought the two little fishes refill pouches for I think 5 bucks for 3? without the magnet. I have plenty of spare magnets as I keep them from old pumps and such so I glued my own on.

20 dollars is such a crazy price for what it is.

@Paul B I wanted to thank you for your many years of service not only to your tank but also to so many others that you have helped. Even if we don't see eye to eye on some things and I am sure you would consider me a "Snowflake" I want to know I hold your option to a very high regard. I think you are a good guy and I am more then happy to look past the differences to respect all your options!

Merry Christmas Paul from all of us Snowflakes! ;)

Is it there to level the stand?

I hope you enjoy it but remember it is about 100% opposite what Humble would say, so don't tell him.

I added a little copper powder to the cover so if your fish get spots, tear off the cover and add it to your tank. 😃

My book is actually selling quite well over on Reef2Reef. I assume a lot of people have crooked Christmas trees.
Two people there actually send me a really generous check made out to the MS Society which blew me away.

Hopefully thursday I can go to the MS Society and give them all the profits from the book. I will lay it out because so far I have not seen a nickel but I think the owner of Amazon is using it to buy frags.

On Thursday I have to go to my Doctor (Dr. Korvorkian). He is looking for just the right cro bar to use to dig out this knee that he just installed so he can use some coral glue to put in another one, hopefully made out of better wood.

My surgery is Feb 3 and my neighbor will help me get back home because if my wife tries to help me we will have to get a fife, bugel and flag so we look like the walking wounded from the civil war.
