NO. They have a bad reputation. They are not ocellaris but honestly I probably lose more ocellaris to fighting then maroons even on a percentage base. Maroons just beat the hell out of each other sometimes but ocellaris just kill and it's over.

They have gotten progressively less mean. Initially it was hard to stop them from fighting but these days don't have too many issues. I did recently have one jumper in my harem but I've had 12 together for 2 years now.

It will never be cost effective for me to ship fish one by one to the US but it may be possible for me to get a fish and game permit and export to someone for resale. I'm starting to look into it a bit but still filling the semi local market is my current goal.

I never thought this day would come but I am SOLD OUT of maroons.

I do have some growing out but they are at least 4-5 months away. Going to have to bring them back into higher production.

Mostly shops a few to individuals (very very few) and some to basement shops. I don’t really do retail sales but I will for the most part sell to basement shops as I gotta move them.

But, here's the thing...should we care that "dirty rotten basement dealers" are selling sustainable tank bred/grown fish and coral? Now, I understand that most basement dealers just sell whatever wild stuff they can get thier hands on, but LFS are not any better, if not worse.

Well there are shady lfs and shady basement dealers too. It’s not the fact they’re in a basement. Case and point I’m at this guys house and he said 10 minutes even though I’m here at the agreed upon time.

I'm sure he'll enjoy his last delivery.
This is a big reason I don't even bother with locals. They all reschedule 3 times an hour after the agreed time and day, or they want me to drive an hour each way so they can buy a single $30 frag.

It turned out he was home just in the shower lol. He did know when I was coming.

Had to finish my other deliveries. Saw a $3000 bounce that wasn’t even that big. A pretty big Lenardi for the first time in like 5 years. A bunch of other cool stuff and even got myself this guy :
