Ok, starting a tank journal. I currently have a 150 gallon reef tank and a ~30ish gallon anemone tank. I started with a Cvue 40 AIO 3.5 years ago and then upgraded to the 150. It’s from SCA and I built my stand. I made the switch over 2 years ago. Here are some pics of the stand build and the tank shortly after setup.

I’ve since added a floating canopy

It’s plumbed to a diy sump using a 40 breeder in the basement. Using an Eshoppe S200 skimmer, refugium, and Lifeguard Aquatics bio pellet reactor. I use a Jebao return pump and 2 Jebao CP-150 gyres. For lighting, I have 3 of the 165W Viparspectras. I have around 150 lbs of live rock, about 100 lbs of aquacultured rock from Live Rock’NReef. Got some cool hitchhikers that are still going strong after 3+ years.

5 Orange Spotted Filefish? That should be fun. Very pretty fish. Who was it that was successful in breeding them I just learned of. Oh - Matt Pedersen I think it was. It was a great RB episode.

Nice tank and great work. Last photo has to be the barnacle blenny, right? Such an interesting fish. One of the fish on my short list of a desktop display I'm working on using spare parts. Keep up the great work.

Thanks! Yeah, I have interacted a little with Matt on the Melev’s Reefs fb page. Barnacle blennies are definitely cute funny little fish. Perfect for a nano, they kinda get lost in the 150.

I meant to mention that the reason I started a tank was that I got some great deals on a tank and equipment from a local auction house. They used to auction all the returns and overstock from Dr. Fosters and Smith. For example, I got the CVue 40 for $24.38, Eshopps S-200 skimmer for $127.05 (both new) with all the auction fees. Turns out long term those good deals have cost me a lot of money.
I sure do miss those auctions. :)

Nice display. Question - do these come smaller :) I swear I have one of these moving around my display now and think it came in from my KP rock order. It is small though so don't believe it is but it does have a frilly outside and around the hard upper shell. Cool to watch.

That’s Oscar, my abalone. Obviously they are smaller when they are young, but I don’t know of any ‘mini’ abalone species. You might have keyhole limpets, I know I got a bunch of those with my aquacultured rock.

Thanks. Pretty. And yes I've also been thinking of a limpet. I'll have to grab a photo next time I see it running around so I can scour the web :)

Keep up the great work.
