How have the hdpe setups you’ve seen dealt with detritus getting under the sheet? Is it not an issue?
Some seal it with silicon to the bottom, some run a bead around the sheet to the glass, some do nothing. Opinions seem to be mixed what the best approach is, of course those who didn't seal it say they've had no issues :)

Years ago I had a sheet that was not siliconed down in a FOLWR tank for a few years, I did not see an adverse effect.

You are a terrible influence, ordered Bubble King Cone 180 Protein Skimmer (Made in Germany) | Premium Aquatics

I like the float switch on the RO Elite, I can add one through p4 if I really want that feature.
Man if you can afford it, its tue way to go. Best skimmer im the market.
I used to have a skimmer cup cleaner and switch on my BK mini 200. But when I got the DC it doesn't fit.
Am now looking for something that fits the DC 200.
Although these cleaners do reduce effectiveness of the skimmer cause it mess with the bubbles foam build up.

Congrats thu, u will like it

I’ve put an avast marine swabbie neck cleaner on a skimmer before, it worked well. I’ve had a deltec with the manual cleaner built into the cup, that’s a really neat feature.

I do not think I know it. Will check it out.
Now I use subber spatula I stole from my wife to clean the neck every day or 2 and dump the junk in the cup.
Also have the cup connected to octopuses collection container that turns off the skimmer when full.

I really like the design of no magnets and they seem well made!

@Badilac what would happen if I ran the SDC 7.0 on this tank through the Aqua UV 15w I already have? I'm wondering if that's a viable option instead of getting a new UV.
You will likely have too much flow going through the unit. The lowest the pump is rated at is 800gph with zero head. The classic 15w is rated at a max of 700gph for 30,000 uw/cm2. Running the 7.0 at 75% or higher will likely render the UV very ineffective but it would still be better than nothing. I honestly still recommend going bigger at some point if you don’t want to spend the money now.

I haven’t run my UV in about 3 months just due to trying to save money by not having the chiller run as much and I can see a huge difference in water clarity/quality now. The water is noticeable dirtier and no where near as clear. The only plus side is my chiller hardly runs now but I will be turning it back on once the outside temp drops.

This the one you’d recommend based on the rest of the setup?

I do recommend the Promax 25 but the sdc 7 is still to big without slowing it down or running the UV’s off a manifold which will allow you to regulate the flow going to it.
