ive been posting that I’ve been using this for 2 weeks now. It wasn’t like I was trying to be dishonest about it.

why did no one speak up on the forums until now?

@Dierks even said he has used it.
Sad to say but I agree I wouldn't use it with SPS personally. Because of the dishonesty from UWC I wouldn't use it at all.

Well I can stop using it. So any suggestions going forward to resolve this? So far nothing really works other than blowing off the substrate. It looks good for a few hours then ultimately it just comes back anyways.

Did u identify what is it?
If it's diatom, it's just a matter of maturity or high silica.
Did u ever do ICP?

@AquaBiomics does your kits detect dino?

I had another Reefer here put a sample under a microscope (lab grade). The results were inconclusive.
Can u send an icp pls.
Send a Triton so we base line

If you find it helpful, I came across a method for dinos that I am using that seems to be working. I am clearing my young tank combinations of cyano, residual gha, chryso and dinos with a combo of dosing nit/phos as I read zero, phytoplanktom, silica and microbacter 7 bacteria. ( I also used aquabiomics sand again). In this week it is cleared the cyano, gha, reducing the chyrso and dinos (microscope confirmed). I had a mixed family of dinos but the primarily ostreopsis, prorocentrum and I think coolia. My chryso is dominiant. The goal is to move towards diatoms and away from other stuff and so far this week it is working even though I still am zero nitrate/phos. I have UV but not using it.

Okay got an ICP test kit at Neptune. Neptune also asked about my clean up crew. They said I don’t have enough hermit crabs to clean up. They recommended 20 - 35 for 160 gallon tank. I currently have 6
Wait on this till we get icp.

Why ? These tiny crabs are miracle workers.
Randy, I am not aware of any type of crab that would eat diatom or dino. So I am super confused that you think they are eating the diatom.
