Red Sea Rostatos Reefer 450

Sent out my first ATI ICP test because I have not been satisfied with triton lately.

Did a large water change a couple days ago and cleaned a bunch of detritus off the bottom of the tank. Sucked up a few random jawbreakers while doing so, so now they are resting in a media basket.
I've never been able to find them at any sort of reasonable price.

I sent one in on mar 30. I wonder if usps lost it

I had to go back and check some dates so I don't lie to you :). Especially since we are in the same state - lol.

I sent off my last ATI ICP test on the 19th of March. I think that was a Saturday.
Received email from ATI on March 31st saying they received it (usually takes 2 working days once received)
Received email notification on April 1st with results

Little longer but I think it was because I sent it in on a weekend. I usually try and get it in the mail on Tuesday or Thursday. I thought I read somewhere that they ship twice a week - something like that. Anyway when I time it right I can get it within 9 days. I sent them a question via email about silicates and they replied within 24 hours.

I'd wager you will get your results next week.

Finally got my results. I knew I’d need to dose some strontium. I probably won’t dose others. Definitely need to test my nitrates again. It’s been a while and I guess they died down.

Neonitro that tank!

Already been dosing stump remover for a long time. Just need to up the dose a little.

also some silicone in my RO water. Otherwise 0 of everything else. I wonder where the silicone comes from. Any one any ideas?

That's siliCON not siliCONE. I believe silicon can indicate silicates, which can be hard for rodi to remove, but not really a problem if you aren't having diatom issues.

Tank is doing well. I have began the slow breakdown of the tank. I figure it’ll be about a year or so before the tank is shut down. I started by fire selling all the frags on my frag racks and made some more frags.

I made a huge mistake though. I squished a little aptasia and now I see lots popping up. 🤦🏻‍♂️

I normally just kill flow and cover with kalk paste. Works like a charm but this one really pissed me off and I squished it out of anger. Now I’ll need to find a way to manage them before they fleet really out of hand.

Sadly, the tank will be broken down within the next few months. I now have to rent my house for termites. 😢

I was hoping to do it a bit slower, but I think the Reefer Gods are telling me it’s time to let the tank go completely.

More details to come in a few weeks.
If you no longer enjoying it, you've gotta do what you gotta do. Hope you find good homes for everything.
