Fuge has some life! Algae and pods are in. I honestly like the look of small amount of macros, to bad that will not be a long term thing.

I think I have found a way to put a power head on the front end of the peninsula without having a magnet on the glass pane and not have a cord deep into the tank. Let me know your thoughts!

1) Utilize a maxspect gyre XF350 for its ability to be so close the the water surface. I have heard negative thing about these magnets on anything larger than 1/2" thick.
2) Utilize the double Eurobrace glass trim on my tank

Idea:
Build a bracket that places a piece of 1/2" acrylic approximately a 1/2" above the water. Attach the gyre to this bracket which will be approximately 4" into the tank from the front pane and submerged in the water approximately 1". This will ensure the cord is barley visible in the water. The pump will come across as "floating" in the tank.

Generation 1 of the design:

This is how it sits on the Eurobracing:

I did use a SLA 3D printer to create the angled bracket portion of this for generation 1 thinking I will change it and didn't want to waste the time making acrylic for this. I can 3D print a bracket design in 3 hours and without access to a mill I can easily make the bracket portion currently. I can make the bracket portion in a few pieces of acrylic and might do that when the final design is confirmed.

Also need to purchase the gyre itself since I created the bracket dimensions around it...

Generation 2 Ideas:

Build up a splash protection wall for the dry side magnet and maybe a removable top?

Anyone got any other ideas?

Update:

All QT fish are doing great. General cure first dose has been completed, since all the fish are eating nicely, specifically the Ornate. Copper is being raised to therapeutic levels slowly but surely.

Refugium and filtration are fully functioning now. I have spent more time in the QT setup and process then anything else really. All four fish in the DT are doing great.

I need to decide in the near future if I am going to do a Calcium reactor or 2 part. I want to do a calcium reactor... but $1500 bucks to do it right is such a deterrent at the current moment. I wont have any SPS for another few months, so still some time to kill.

sh room is also starting to come together! Specifically in QT department. I find it very interesting the different rabbit holes you can go down in this hobby to keep it intriguing.

Building/designing a tank. Let it cycle.. so time to plan and play with automation and controllers, set up QT for fish since it is the first thing you can add. QT in itself is a huge rabbit hole, then you can go down the different types of fish/how to stock the tank and in what order the fish need to be introduced. 3-4 months later you can start introducing some tester corals.... Oh wait lets QT corals first.. build an entire coral QT system.. Now picking corals.. now I need to handle the uptake of elements and overall nutrition of the DT... calcium reactors, fuges, misc reactors, supplements, maintenance routine... how can I automate my maintenance.. fancy new equipment...
I can defiantly see where all the money goes and how those who spouses get a stern talking to every now and again HA.

Coral QT tank came in..... with some damage. Should have a remake made by the end of the week and re shipped to me the following week. Was planning on setting this up this previous weekend. Not sure if I am going to have to resend this one back or not. If not a little acrylic glue and boom now have a frag tank and a coral QT tank.

Coral QT or Frag tank which ever I choose it to be is now plumbed into the main system via a DOS utilizing the AWC system that is already occurring. DT - Coral QT - Waste water drain line. Everything has been calibrated to match.

Fish QT is back up a running with a few new inhabitants.

With corals a a few weeks/ months still out. I might be using the Coral QT as a fish QT so the wrasses do not have to go through a full 30 day copper treatment. 14 days and general cure. I am also planning on receiving another coral QT due to the previous damages. Which hopefully can utilize both tanks. One for Coral QT and one frag system.

Thank you! I haven’t posted anything yet about it, but I did pick this up a few weeks ago

Geo’s calcium reactor. Slowly getting the pieces. CA reactor can get very pricey and not in a rush for it so picking things up each month. I just got my CO2 tank today. 10lbs. I can send you some pricing information I have sent others.... it’s not cheap.

forgot to add before the SPS journey begins... I had to add something that required freedom to choose a adequate living space. Green Gigantea anemone. I have had him for almost a month. He has already made it through his power head incident stage. ( I swear happens almost every time) He is almost 100% healed up. No SPS will go on his island for atleast 4 months to ensure he is staying relatively put.
Arrival date: July 28th

I will get the real camera out once he is fully healed up and ready to be photo genetic

Well my captials are now out of the playoffs more time to tinker.

I have one Orphex bar here and another due Monday. I am trying to come up with a way to hang these lights next to the radions, but also utilize their bracket which allows you to angle the lights. The led strip will go on both sides of the radions with MAYBE another down the middle.
Orphex 5.JPG

So this is what my first concept looks like:
Orphex 4.JPG

Orphex 3.JPG

I used PVC board to handle the saltwater air and as a strong base to mount the brackets and angle the lights.
The PVC board will then be hung in the canopy with something likes these. I wanted them to be adjustable in height.

Anyone got any other ideas based off of radion set up?
