on the dream reef i want to replicate nature and ramp up from sun rise to sun set with peaking during the afternoon. someday haha.
That's a whole lotta light lol. Doesn't Neptune have some 24/7 lighting function? I think I heard rich Ross talk about it for his coral spawning

Water change time!
Po4 .05
Alk 8.2
Nitrate 50?
Gonna get the Hanna nitrate soon I just want a digital read out.

Tanks got a lot of algae and patches of cyano I'm looking to work on. I need to work on a mixing station or at least get a 55gal brute so I can do larger water changes. I'm going to use my bottle of Dr tims waste away to help lower the nitrates a bit. Need to get more cuc in the tank too.

I got the Hanna low range nitrate which was a mistake! Such a PITA to use and then I realized I don’t even care, I just want the regular range
That is unfortunate yeah I want the high range. The high range is really easy to use.

Woah so I switched to kalk and now my alk is swinging around. My 24hr drop was .1dkh and I programmed 100mls spread over 24hrs. My dkh was 7.8 at that time. Then I tested last night and I was at 8.2 so I cut my dosing to 50mls total. Now I just tested at 7.8dkh 20hrs later.

Found a gem while out shopping. Copperband that's eating mysis and spirulina brine shrimp. Has been in their tanka for more than a month now. Large guy top only for 60$!! Not going to run through copper this time around. Gonna treat with metro and prazi only. DT is going hypo so may put in fairly soon as ich should be eradicated anyways. Plus he's been there for a month so seems pretty safe. May be rehoming my sailfin soon if it doesn't accept the copperband in an acclimation box.

Congrats! Fantastic find and one top notch addition to any tank!

My copperband was fine literally and now is dead. He was in my display now and has been very active and seemingly happy. I went upstairs for a couple hours. Came downstairs to find him dead sucked into my gyre with a nem guard. I'm so confused I have no idea how he's died. Could my rabbitfish stab him? I don't see any wounds. Could he have choked? Like maybe got too close to the gyre and got sucked in choked on the gyre?
