What uve found in the basement is that a lid can keep the high co2 air out, and kalkwasser can mostly handle the co2 from nighttime coral respiration
So having a lid is more of a benefit than gas exchange in high co2 environments? I feel like would would work best when you're dosing higher amounts of kalk. I'm currently dosing kalk 12 times at 4mls per at night

Well, you take the fight from the whole house down to just the tank that way. 🤷‍♂️
Many ways to skin the cat. Just remember, o2 rises, and co2 falls. Lids redirects some of the o2 back down, and keeps a decent bit of co2 out. All surface agitation does is literally scoop co2 out of the air.

Very good things to think about. I'm hoping that my 120 will have a higher ph. Plus I can run fresh air to the skimmer. Hopefully that's enough

Idk...kenya trees and xenia seem to dislike higher pH, but leathers and mushrooms seem to do fine either way. Lol
7.6 is about the point where calcium can start to dissolve slowly.
no wonder my sps don't grow softy tank is definitely best for me I guess :ROFLMAO:.

It's gonna be a 12ft run to reach my skimmer but i think I could Crack the window open at the top and then put expanding foam at the top?

You can just use foam board too. Pop a hole jn for the airline. Just be sure to size up the hose. I'd use at least the 3/8? Size vinyl tubjng that uses in siphon hoses.

yellowtail isn't doing too well looks a lot skinnier than I'd like. Also may be getting bullied seems to have some frayed fins. Still has not eaten frozen food regardless of what I've tried. Thinking the pod population has taken quite the hit from hypo. @Jposch any suggestions?
White worms maybe? Have you tried different brands of mysis? I can look what brand I was feeding. I think it was hikari

Spirulina brine shrimp
Couple other frozen blends
Pellets

Has never shown interest in anything I give him even if it floats by him or everyone else is gorging themselves

One of my clownfish is pretty skinny I'm suspecting there's also internal parasites in my tank. I have noted some stringy poo from it too. Maybe that's why my tamrin is also skinny 🤷‍♂️ So I've decided I'm gonna start pulling fish out and treating for flukes and internal parasites. I'll just let my tank fallow again at hypo and suredly that'll be the end of it. I'm a little spooked by fembendazole so I'm gonna treat again with prazi on a 1357 schedule and observe.

1357 schedule?
dose prazi on day 1,3,5,7 its what you do for prazi resistant flukes to make sure you got everything. This is what I did originally in the 120 when I dosed prazi in the dt. Otherwise you go with fenben. The main goal here is really to refatten up the tamrin and clown too. If possible; I can retrain the tamrin to eat frozen food. I'm gonna start up my pod cultures and have some at the ready to feed him since that's only what he eats right now in the DT. I'm afraid he's just gonna waste away regardless right now so I may as well try my best to recover him. Worst case scenario if I can't get him eating prepared foods and he has internal parasites prognosis doesn't look too good for him.

Vince, have you tried to do this? But instead of straight water use your dissolved medication, water & Garlic. Then when they soak up all the liquid they are brining in the meds too. If you want to take another step you can soak the food in Garlic again to really mask things.

I do this on a large scale so I have a pump and Vaccum Chamber and this is how I do all my medicated food. I can even get them to eat CP this way!!

I am currently feeding it as soon as I noticed but my other fish are out competing him for food. Also the tamrin doesn't eat prepared food so it won't help him. If I can't get all my fish to eat it won't internal parasites just persist?
